Overview

This course is the second course in the 3-part Introduction series designed to help you implement the IM K-5 Math Curriculum. In this course, you will build an understanding of how lessons are structured in this curriculum – the components, the materials, and the key information that can support your daily planning for bringing the lessons to life for your students. This course is designed for teachers, instructional coaches and leaders new to the curriculum, teachers who need a refresher, or teachers who missed the launch workshop.

  • Participants will need a computer with Internet access

Learning Experience

  • LEARN: Participants will go deeper into the structure of lessons learning about the warm-up, activities, and synthesis structure. Participants will build an awareness of the instructional routines and mathematical language routines (MLRs) integrated into the curriculum activities.
  • DO: Participants will explore a lesson and reflect on how to facilitate the lesson in their classroom.
  • CALL TO ACTION: Participants will reflect on what was learned in the course and identify a concrete next step.
