Overview

Problem-based instruction is driven by student ideas and strategies that arise when they work on rich mathematical tasks. Teachers must craft a clear, concise activity synthesis driven by student responses for students to consolidate their learning effectively. In this 2-hour activity planning session, participants will explore the purpose and goals of the activity synthesis and how the practices of sequencing and connecting are the bridge from student thinking to the learning goals.
