Overview

In the cyclical process of assessment for learning, teachers use student-centered formative assessments to measure student learning, provide feedback, and engage students in understanding their own progress. This process empowers students to take ownership of their learning by setting goals based on assessment data and using that data to drive their growth and achievement. In this in-person workshop, participants will explore practices for incorporating student-centered formative assessments into their teaching, with a focus on how assessment can be used to support student learning and drive instructional decisions. Participants will build a strategic plan to implement these practices in an upcoming lesson, ensuring that assessments are not just a tool for measuring learning, but also for actively promoting it.
