Overview

Problem-based instruction requires teachers to deeply understand the learning goals of each activity and anticipate student responses to facilitate meaningful mathematical learning. Teachers need opportunities to think deeply about the instructional moves at each phase that promote engagement and understanding. In this workshop, we will define the key elements of effective facilitation in each phase of a problem-based lesson and explore practical strategies for supporting teacher development in these areas.

I systematically support teachers to use the curriculum’s problem-based structures to support student learning.

• 3 hours In-Person, or 2 hours Virtual
• Participants will need a computer with access to Zoom, a camera, a microphone, and stable Internet connectivity
