Overview

Effective use of curriculum requires teachers to deeply understand it so that they can leverage their expertise to use the curriculum with intentionality. This launches teachers into beginning to understand how to utilize Open Up Resources in their classrooms with their students.In this workshop, we will build an understanding of problem-based math instruction and the key characteristics of this curriculum that bring that approach alive.

Learning Experience

In Day 1 of the 2-day launch workshop you will be introduced to the design and structure of this curriculum. Participants will:

• Define the key characteristics of problem-based math instruction
• Explore the curriculum structure and materials
• Build an understanding of the learning progression of multiple lessons in Unit 1
