In this 3-hour strategy, students create a social media video for a local nonprofit, business, or organization about the services and offerings they can provide using Adobe Premiere Rush. This strategy provides students with a real world opportunity for highlighting their skill sets and how to market themselves to businesses.
Adobe Premiere Rush is a great tool to be able to document and share the experience visually, while also serving as a product to document the work students are able to do in the field. This video can be embedded in their Adobe Portfolio or links on their own social media channels. This assignment may be adapted for use with Adobe Premiere Pro.
Students review what skills they have and can offer to businesses and brands in the areas of social media. Students read the articles listed here. (30 minutes)
Students evaluate the skills they have and determine how they would market themselves for consulting opportunities in social media. Students can read the Sprout Social article on how to become a social media consultant and consider these questions. (30 minutes)
Students gather images, videos, examples, and create a video through Adobe Premiere Rush outlining their skills and experience in a short video clip. This video should be no more than 1- to 2-minutes at most to be shared online through social media. Students can follow these steps and examine a student sample here. (100 minutes)
Students share and publish their video. Present the video and explain to your class online and/or in virtual class on your areas of expertise and experience, and overall goals you have in launching a consulting business in social media. (20 minutes)
This 3-hour strategy allows you to create a video outlining what services you can offer to these organizations for the opportunity to consult with them on social media specializations. You will create a 1- to 2-minute video using Adobe Premiere Rush. The objective for this assignment is to give you an opportunity to document and showcase the work they have done with providing advice and insights on a social media topic through consulting practices.
Adobe Premiere Rush, with its ease of use and design for social media videos, will allow students to gain experience in putting together a video showcasing areas of expertise that can be used for consulting opportunities.

What is your why statement?(What are the reasons why you want to be in this industry? What areas are you passionate about?)
What are some social media areas I am skilled in?
What are some experiences I have done that showcase these skills?
What areas do I hope to get into my consulting business?
How can people get in touch with me for my consulting services?
3. You will be asked to create a short video outlining these answers in your video (1- to 2-minutes) using Adobe Premiere Rush. Make sure you format the video and edit based on your personal branding elements.
