Support educators in using PASCO OpenSciEd to its fullest potential to help students make sense of scientific phenomena through asking driving questions, holding deep discussions, building consensus, and investigating.
Implementing and adapting the PASCO OpenSciEd curriculum requires alignment across your district, support from all of your stakeholders, differentiated training for your teachers, and most of all, planning for success. Our learning plans include distinct phases of implementation to support this change across your district.
Launch PASCO OpenSciEd in your district with an in-person experience that’s designed to provide all educators with an introduction to the tool and allow everyone to take ownership of a successful launch. Teachers, instructional leaders, and building leaders will work together to develop a foundational understanding of PASCO OpenSciEd and begin making a plan to bring the tool into the classroom.
Getting Started with PASCO OpenSciEd
Planning support is a critical step in supporting teachers to build rigor into their lesson plans. To support a long-standing change in practice, we guide instructional leaders and help build their capacity to support the adoption of the curriculum through one-to-one coaching. Teachers come together to learn how to develop impactful lesson plans.
Student Growth through 3-Dimensional Learning
Virtual 1:1 Coaching
Leaders build their capacity to enact changes by understanding what success looks like in the classroom and use data to make informed professional learning decisions. Learning Walks are a non-evaluative collaborative experience that brings leaders together to observe math classrooms, acknowledge student-centered math practices, and create a tailored learning plan to support teachers.
Learning Walk for OpenSciEd
Bring together the educators who will be enacting changes in math classrooms at collaborative Virtual Workshops throughout the school year. Throughout your student-centered math initiative, teachers will work together to choose outcomes to work towards, create actionable next steps, and build a plan to reflect on student results for a lasting change in practice.

Outcomes are the connecting thread for all of our learning experiences. Each experience is tied to an outcome that makes the change in practice tangible and impactful for students and teachers. For the PASCO OpenSciEd curriculum, we focus on helping educators achieve the below outcomes.
Outcome: I use curriculum materials to drive student-led scientific investigation.
Outcome: I use the curriculum’s storyline materials to effectively plan for and pace student investigations.
Outcome: I implement strategies to meet the needs of all students throughout a unit.
Outcome: I leverage curriculum materials to help students make meaning of scientific concepts.
