Low achievement in reading and writing proficiency across various student demographics is not a new phenomenon in our country. In order to improve achievement and close opportunity gaps across student populations, schools must provide high-quality, research-based ELA instruction. In this workshop, elementary school leaders will develop a conceptual understanding of the most effective, research-based practices for high-quality student-centered literacy instruction. They will explore how to evaluate and support teachers implementing a comprehensive student-centered literacy program based on the Science of Reading.
