Recruiting effective teachers is among the strategies that have the greatest impact on accelerating student learning and is also among the most labor intensive for principals (McQueen, 2021). Not only must principals actively recruit new talent, they are also charged to effectively onboard, mentor, and provide coaching and support for educators. Bringing strong teachers and developing their strengths is an ongoing effort that requires vision and intention (Holcombe et al., 2021). Within this topic, BL Coaches will use the Communities of Practice (COP) principles to provide principals with tools to attract and retain high-quality staff that translate into a rigorous school program that produces better educational outcomes for students.
This coaching experience is designed for early (1-3 years) and aspiring principals aiming to strengthen their leadership practice.
