Overview
In this course, you will build an understanding of the Science of Reading by defining the term, exploring the major models, and considering the instructional implications. This course is designed for teachers, instructional coaches, and leaders in grades K-2 who support students with reading acquisition. Science of Reading is defined and referenced in the K-3, 3-8, and 9-12 workshops, however, this course includes new content on SOR that is not currently provided in any of our other SCL offerings.

Learning Experience
- Learn: Review the core models of the science of reading and their implications for instruction and student learning.
- Do: Review myths and misunderstandings on SOR and provide clarification.
- Call to Action: Identify an area of need for a select student and determine next steps in reading or spelling instruction to promote proficiency.
