Overview

The Science of Reading (SOR) is a collection of cross-disciplinary research that both explains how we learn to read and write, and informs our instructional practices for reading acquisition. In this course, participants will define the term Science of Reading, explore the major models of SOR, and consider their instructional implications.

Outcome

I plan high-quality lessons for all research-based components of foundational literacy instruction (PA, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension) that maintain high expectations for student performance.
