Low achievement in reading and writing proficiency has created an urgent need to support educators and school leaders with implementing effective, research-based ELA programs. In this workshop, participants will develop a deep understanding of what the Science of Reading tells us about best practices in foundational reading instruction. They will explore components of research-based foundational literacy programs, evaluate their current practice, and plan for implementation. This workshop is designed for a K-5 audience.
I plan high-quality lessons for foundational reading instruction, including phonics, decoding, phonological and phonemic awareness, and high-frequency word recognition.
