Overview
In this course, you will build awareness of the key concepts and skills in Grade 8 Module 1 of the Open Up Resources EL Education Curriculum in order to support your planning and implementation of the Module. This course is designed for anyone who supports Grade 8 students.

- Participants will need a computer with Internet access
Learning Experience
- LEARN: Participants will build an understanding of a unit planning process that identifies student skills across Module 1 to inform daily planning decisions. Participants will review the assessments, reading and writing connections, and Habits of Character connections.
- DO: Participants will connect their learning to their classroom: identifying challenges for students and reviewing the supports within the curriculum for supporting students to have success with the Module.
- CALL TO ACTION: Participants will reflect on what they have learned and identify one concrete next step to plan for the successful implementation of the Module.
