Overview

This is the second course in the 3-part Introduction to the K-5 Math Curriculum. In this course, we will take a close look at how lessons are structured in this curriculum – the components, the materials, and the key information that can support your daily planning for bringing the lessons to life for your students.

  • Course 1: Introduction to the Curriculum Part 1: Curriculum Overview
  • Course 2: Introduction to the Curriculum Part 2: Exploring the Components of a Lesson
  • Course 3: Introduction to the Curriculum Part 3: Exploring the Components of a Unit

By the end of this second course, educators will be able to:

  • Describe the components of a lesson
  • Explain how instructional routines are incorporated into lesson activities
  • Use the lesson and activity narratives in the curriculum to plan effectively
