This course will explore the embedded routines and structures of the IM 6-8 and IM 9-12 Math Curriculums that support students to effectively engage in problem-based learning. It will identify ways to increase student confidence in thinking and communicating mathematically, as well as increasing access without reducing rigor of each activity.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Explain the purpose and value of the instructional and mathematical language routines.
Identify how the curriculum materials are designed to promote student engagement in problem-based instruction.
