Overview

Humanizing mathematics includes creating learning environments where students believe mathematics is useful and in their ability to learn and apply mathematical concepts. These environments are intentionally created through the intentional integration of systems and strategies that foster a supportive learning experience. In this workshop, participants will reflect and define their beliefs about teaching and learning in mathematics, explore strategies that build positive learning environments, and develop plans to help students feel valued and supported as mathematicians.

Specifications

• 3 hours In-Person, or 2 hours Virtual
• Participants will need a computer with access to Zoom, a camera, a microphone, and stable Internet connectivity
