Overview

Low achievement in reading and writing proficiency has created an urgent need to support educators and school leaders with putting into practice effective, research-based literacy instruction. In this course, you will build an awareness of the fundamental principles of student-centered literacy, including what research tells us about effective teaching practices. You will explore key components of research-based literacy programs and expand your understanding of the shifts required to implement such a program. This course is designed for teachers and leaders who are new to the student-centered literacy approach or launching a student-centered literacy curriculum for the first time.
