Overview

Much like reading, writing has separate strands that come together to create a skilled writer. In this workshop, we will define key writing skills and explore what good writing looks like at each grade level. Participants will explore the writing strands, identify standards-aligned writing skills, and make connections to how the other ELA domains (reading, speaking, and listening) contribute to writing success. We will focus on Science of Reading-supported practices to improve student literacy development and build a plan for bringing standards-aligned strategies and best practices into the student-centered writing classroom. This product is available as a 3-hour in-person workshop or a 2-hour virtual workshop.

Outcome

I provide high-quality learning experiences that help students engage in productive discourse and develop their writing, speaking, and listening skills.

• Participants will need a computer with access to Zoom, a camera, a microphone, and stable Internet connectivity
