Student discourse is a key component of each lesson and activity in a problem-based curriculum, and getting the most out of these opportunities for discourse requires careful planning. Facilitating student discourse requires ongoing work to actively respond to students while staying true to the learning goals. In this full-day planning workshop, teachers will leverage embedded curriculum components and their expertise to purposefully plan for meaningful mathematical discourse in upcoming lessons.
I leverage the curriculum’s problem-based structures to plan meaningful learning experiences for my students.
