In this lesson, students construct a Sun, Earth, & Moon model to demonstrate the rotation and revolution of Earth. Students also conduct online research to explore the relationships between Earth's motions and the measurement of time.
In this lesson, students evaluate and communicate information on the apparent movement of constellations using a variety of resources: interactive star map, planisphere, videos, modeled demonstration, and online resources.
In this lesson, students will explore the seasons on Earth using graphs, videos, online reading, and demonstrations. At the end of this lesson, students will explain how the Earth's revolution and tilt affect the seasonal temperatures on Earth.
Students will work in groups to create an image of an assigned constellation. We will then use these images in our model as we investigate why we only see some constellations at certain times of the year.
