What's Wrong With Mean?

Unit 1: Statistics: Data in One Variable
Lesson 7 of 11

Objective: SWBAT understand the limitations of using mean to understand the nature of a data set, which lays the groundwork for their upcoming study of standard deviation and the normal distribution.

Big Idea: Standard deviation can be an opaque topic for students if it lacks context. Fortunately, it's possible to have some fun seeing why this powerful statistical tool was developed.
