# Angles PostAssessment

## Objective: SWBAT demonstrate what they have learned during the angles unit

**POD**

As students enter the room, they will have a seat, take out their **Problem of the Day** (POD) sheet and begin to work on the question on the SMARTboard. The POD allows students to use **MP 3** continually based on the discussions we have about the problem each day.

To start class today we will have a question and answer session to answer any final questions that students may have about the review or the concepts in the unit. If there are any concepts that students still have questions on or need additional information on we can address it when they come into class. I like to help calm them and affirm what they know and clarify anything they are unsure of. Once questions are answered, we will begin the post assessment. I want to touch specifically on the vocabulary we have covered and the application of that vocabulary. For example, I don’t want them to just know that two complementary angles have the sum of 90^{o}. I also want them to know the complement of a 53^{o} angle.

Students will complete the post assessment on angles. The post assessment is different from the pre assessment. We used the pre assessment as a review and a formative assessment to help students prepare for the final assessment of the unit. The concepts and the question structure are the same. If students are successful on the post assessment, that would indicate that they are comfortable in their understanding and application of the concepts and formulas we have discussed throughout the unit.

Students will have the class period to complete the assessment. Students who finish early may meet with me to review the assessment if there is time to grade the assessment. Intervention may be necessary for some students and we can plan the intervention period after each conversation.
