## Objective: SWBAT compute volumes of solids revolved around horizontal and vertical lines. SWBAT derive the volume formulas for spheres and cones using solids of revolution.

## Big Idea: Why is a sphere’s volume 4/3 pi*r^3 ? Why is a cone’s volume 1/3 pi*r^2*h? How can we split a solid into thirds? Calculus has the answers.
