#### Do Now

*5 min*

See my **Do Now** in my Strategy folder that explains my beginning of class routines.

Often, I create do nows that have problems that connect to the task that students will be working on that day. Today I have students review expectations for computers, since we will use them for review. I call on students to share the expectations for retrieving and using laptops.

#### Online Quiz Review

*15 min*

Notes:

- Each student needs access to a computer for this section of the lesson.
- Here are some fun online games that require students to apply what they know about ratios:

Before students get their laptops, I preview the websites and the possible games they can play. I call students to get their laptops. As students play, I walk around and monitor student progress.

With three minutes left, I tell students to log off and plug their laptops back into the cart.

#### Quiz

*30 min*

I give students the **Quiz.** Students engage with **MP1: Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them**. If students do not finish in the allotted time, they set up a time (preferably that day) to come in and complete it. I use this data to inform my instruction. If students struggle with a concept, I will spiral it into do nows and homework assignments. I may also add a few problems on that topic to the next quiz.

*Responding to Ravneet Grewal*

Hi Ravneet. Unfortunately, I can't post this quiz. I used a question bank that my district paid for to create the quiz. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks for these great resources. I was wondering if the actual quiz is available as a resource anywhere. Thank you!
