2D and 3D Volume and Area Test
Lesson 17 of 18
Objective: Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to apply correct procedures to solve area, surface area, and volume of 2 and 3d figures.
Last Minute Questions: As students enter the room, they will be asked to think of any last questions they have before the test. I will take and answer questions for 5-10 minutes.
Learning Target: After completion of the opening questions, I will address the learning target, “I can apply the correct procedures for finding area, surface area, and volume of mixed 2 and 3d figures.”
2D and 3D Volume and Area Test: Today students will take the 2D and 3D Volume and Area Test, and I will utilize Mastery Connect. Problems on today's assessment bring in several of the mathematical practices - on top of persevering with each problem (MP 1), paying attention to calculations and units (MP 6), and using tools strategically - calculator, drawings (MP 5) - students will also be expected to model their understanding (MP 4) through real world applications (MP 2).
Note to Teacher: As students finish the test, they will be directed to the summary statement on the smartboard, which asks that they write me a note regarding their feelings about the test they just took. I will take their notes as they leave the room.
