# Trigonometric Functions Review Day 1

Lesson 17 of 19

## Objective: Students will be able to review the objectives covered in this unit.

*50 minutes*

#### Warm Up and Homework Review

*10 min*

I include **Warm ups** with a **Rubric** as part of my daily routine. My goal is to allow students to work on **Math Practice 3** each day. Grouping students into homogeneous pairs provides an opportunity for appropriately differentiated math conversations. The Video Narrative explains this lesson’s Warm Up- Trigonometric Functions Review Day 1 which asks students to find the period and amplitude of a modeled trig function.

I also use this time to correct and record the previous day's Homework.

#### Review Activity

*35 min*

This is the first day of a two day review activity. This review is done using personal white boards. Each student receives a whiteboard, marker and eraser or tissue. I give my students an assignment grade for participation on days like this. I allow them to draw on the board (they are going do it anyway) as long as they are working each problem promptly and their drawings are school appropriate and they don’t color the entire board (this wastes my markers).

I place a problem on the Smart Board using my Kuta software. I have included a PDF version of the review. The students work through the problem on their board and then hold it up. I give feedback in the form of encouragement or suggestions for corrections. Once most of the students have completed or attempted the problem, I go over it on the board. If all of the students got it quickly, this step may be skipped.

I may also add problems for additional practice, if needed.

#### Exit Ticket + Homework

*2 min*

This assignment is a common style of review that I use for all of my units. For more information, please check out this document on **Practice Tests**.

#### Exit Ticket

*3 min*

I use an exit ticket each day as a quick formative assessment to judge the success of the lesson.

For an exit ticket, ask the students to list those problems that they would like additional practice with. This information can lead the review for the next day.
