## Big Idea: Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others (Mathematical Practice Standard 3) as students review.

#### Warm Up

I include **Warm ups** with a **Rubric** as part of my daily routine. My goal is to allow students to work on **Math Practice 3** each day. Grouping students into homogeneous pairs provides an opportunity for appropriately differentiated math conversations. This lesson’s Warm Up- Functions Review asks students to write a scenario that can be represented by the function f(x) = -3x + 70 (**Math Practice 2**).

#### White Board Review Activity

As we move along with Common Core transition, students will come to my Algebra 2 class more prepared for the Common Core standards and more accustomed to the mathematical practice standards. In the mean time this unit contains many transitional lessons that make it a bit long. Therefore, I have split it into two sections with two tests. Eventually, I hope that many lessons in this unit will be condensed or removed. There will only be one day of review for this test. The goal of this review is to uncover any remaining misunderstandings and help students figure out which concepts they need to practice prior to the test.

My students do this review on white boards which allows me to provide immediate feedback. I encourage students to write down questions and solutions to any problems that challenge them to use as study material.

This review contains several modeling problems that ask students to identify qualities of functions, several linear equations, and several systems of linear equations. I gauge each class in real-time and skip or add problems as necessary.
