Reflection: Student Grouping Working with a Writing Partner - Section 2: Group Discussion and Modeling

I know that students need to have more practice using specific phrases so that they are respectfully giving feedback. In other lessons, we will talk about language around specific skills or strategies that I have taught and that students are practicing in their writing.

I will also teach students how to give feedback about ways that someone can change or improve their writing.

For this lesson, I want students to practice quietly listening and being attentive to their partner.

Working with a Writing Partner

Unit 14: Developing Writing
Lesson 4 of 10

Objective: SWBAT work with another student on a writing assignment through conversation.

Big Idea: Students benefit from feedback from their teacher as well as their peers. Being able to effectively give feedback and ask for support will help students develop their writing craft.
