Reflection: Adjustments to Practice April 2nd International Children's Book Day - Section 3: Closure


This lesson went well, but a change I would make is to provide various books on each country, etc. so the kids won't have to share.  My aim was to represent all continents, but there weren't enough books about the same country from each, so I picked a series and just used one book per group.

Next year, I think I'll forgo the group aspect, and have the kids do the activity by themselves.  That way there will be enough books to use the informational text independently.

Objective: TSWBAT write stories around the 2014 theme, Imagine Nations Through Story, after learning about a country through informational text.

Big Idea: ALL children of the world should have access to books.
