Reflection: ELL Students Our President - Section 1: Prepare the Learner


Students love to sing this song along with both the book and the video.  They get to travel around America (something most of my students may never do) and see what is beautiful about our country.  I stress with my kids that books are often our eyes to the world and this one is  a great example of just that!

Objective: SWBAT browse a text, gaining information about the text and identifying the meaning of vocabulary words through the pictures. SWBAT write an informational paragraph about the President through guided and modeled writing.

Big Idea: Patriotism is love of and loyalty to our country.
