Reflection: Student Ownership Adverbs - When Did It Happen? - Section 3: Assessment

I used questioning to guide students who were not able to make corrections to incorrect responses. For example, in a sentence that read, “We walked to the store with my mother,” I asked when it happened. The student thought and added the word, “yesterday.” I had them underline adverb, tell me what made it an adverb, and what it described. This helped them think through the process of identifying adverbs and describing their function in the sentence.
