Reflection: Grappling with Complexity 'Prezi'nt Images About Social Studies - Section 4: Discussion and Examples


As we delve into informational text and begin, as 2nd graders, to 'read to learn', students need support with the text. There is a lot of vocabulary that is new, concepts that can be difficult and text that, although organized, may or may not be clear. 

When you are creating a digital tool such as this, I would suggest reading/discussing prior to trying to organize the information. We had addressed this topic of 'branches of government' in Social Studies the day before, but I was supporting that learning in reading class by creating a Prezi.  I recreated the 'branch picture' that we used in Social Studies so the students could begin at the same learning point.
