## Reflection: Accountability Shake It Up Multiplication - Section 2: Activity

Although students are in 3rd grade, I still try to incorporate hands on learning activities. Students are engaged in the activity and stay focused when the expectations are clear. We always review what it looks like to be “working” versus what it looks like to be “playing” with our materials. Students recognize that they must meet my expectation during activities and also understand that there are consequences for not staying on task. If students are unable to complete the activity without “playing” I move them to another seat and they pull number cards to multiply instead of using the manipulatives that the rest of the class is using.
