Reflection: ELL Students Quiet on the Set: Experts Presenting - Section 3: Thank You and Good Night


In teaching this lesson, I saw very quickly that some of my lower achieving LEP students couldn't keep up with taking notes.  Since the presentations were only one day, I let them struggle with the note taking form and try to get what they could written down.  I went home that night and typed into the note taking form the important information they needed.  

I wanted them to have the practice of trying to take notes but I didn't want their lack of English to impede their achievement on the summative project.  So,  I came up with a cheat sheet of sorts for them to provide some support.  You can find the cheat sheet here:  Cheatsheet document  and here:  Cheatsheet PDF.
