Reflection: Routines and Procedures Explicating House Work: Edward Taylor & The Conceit - Section 2: Explicating House Work: The Conceit in Taylor's "Huswifery"

One of the most significant things I noticed today was the students' natural use of literary terms in our discussion. By creating a routine of poetic analysis for the past three days, I have been able to reinforce student's understanding of literary devices and encourage students to incorporate them into their analysis. However, after three days of the same process, the students and I are ready to move on to another activity, and I did give my students a "stretch break" as we return to the directions for their own poem.
