Reflection: Checks for Understanding Drawing Conclusions-Day 3 - Section 3: Closure

So today I used a little different of an approach to how I normally do closure.  I wanted the students to really demonstrate understanding and mastery of the skill.  I knew they were able to make inferences and draw conclusions, but could they do it without me giving them the information to do it with?

A few students struggled with what the question was asking, so once I clarified that, they seemed to do fine.  I was overall pleased with the responses I received-a few were rushed and I couldn't tell if they didn't understand or if they were just anxious to get out of class!

However, I feel pretty confident that the students have a good understanding of what it takes to make inferences and draw conclusions.

This was a longer closure-so I did require more than 7 minutes.  On average, the students were taking about 12.
