Reflection: Student Grouping Numbers Just keep Changing! - Section 2: Sharpening Skills


I noticed that students seemed to have struggled a bit working in pairs.  It would have went a lot smoother if they were in groups. My students seem to work at ease when they are in discussing and  collaborating. They help each-other think their way through the problem solving process.  So, I stopped the lesson for a bit! I asked them to move into their assigned groups to see if it would  make it easier for them to solve their problems. This video will explain in detail.

Unit 4: Numbers and Their Places!
Lesson 2 of 15

Objective: 4.NBT.A.1 SWBAT recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right.

Big Idea: Students are use to numbers changing, working with a variety of skills students will be able to determine that a digit in the ones place represent ten times the digit in the tens place, and how to understand the concept of numbers altogether.
