Reflection: Student Ownership Poetry: Bio Poems - Section 3: Poetry Reading

Analysis of Bio Poem Student Sample show that students began to write more creatively, once they are familiar with the technicalities and devices used in a Bio Poem.  As a matter of fact, students were eager to participate in the poetry reading. The topic of this Bio Poem is themselves.  Perhaps that is why they were so excited.  Students enthusiastically introduced themselves, their families, likes and dislikes, etc. to their classmates.

In retrospect, I noticed students who were initially intimidated by this process quickly calmed down when they were assigned a partner to work with.  Students received supports and guidance from their partner through immediate feedback.
