Reflection: Complex Tasks Island of the Blue Dolphins: Building Vocabulary (In Context!) - Section 1: Cue Set


This lesson actually took scholars 2 days to complete.  They really struggled with using EVIDENCE from the text to determine the meaning of a word.  Many scholars attempted to use their prior knowledge instead.  I changed the Cue Set for day 2 so that scholars would "Rally Robin" the words and definitions that they found yesterday.  Below is a video of the Cue Set for day 2.
