Reflection: Rigor Vocabulary Sandwiches - Section 1: Mini-Lesson

Vocabulary sandwiches are a rigorous activity because students are learning three words for the price of one! When I present the words to the students, I give them one familiar word and one that is an equally challenging word. Therefore when students are using the words in writing and speaking, they have a couple of options. It is also a way to give them a few words as their "vocabulary list," but expand how many words they are learning.
