Reflection: Student Ownership Beginning the Draft: Day 1 of 2 - Section 3: Guided Practice


I agree it is slow work.  I have found with writing it is better to deliver and create a little at a time.  By doing so my students will produce more organized and detailed  published pieces.  In this lesson it is important to look out for signs of boredom.  I have found when I am modeling the writing, my students will stay focused longer when I use their ideas to model how the writing should look or sound like when we are reading it back.

Objective: SWBAT write a draft of their fictional narrative that includes an introduction to the character, setting, and at least one fact about snails.
