Reflection: Intervention and Extension Cornerstone: Comparing Different Views on a Woman's Role in Society (Day 2 of 2) - Section 2: Building Knowledge

A Venn Alternative

After watching my students use the Venn diagram to compare and contrast their ideas,  I realized the diagram's limitations.  The most common comparison organizer, the Venn, just leaves too little space to write in the middle.  I also realized that the placement of the similarities in the middle stops students from lining up parallel differences.  I need an organizer which makes it easier for my students to organize and see their thoughts on paper. I will look for an alternative organizer for my future lessons that I think will be a more efficient use of space.  I'll keep you informed and if you have come across an organizer that you prefer to the Venn please let me know as well!
