Reflection: Routines and Procedures Medial Sound Sorting - Section 3: Practice with Sorting by Medial Vowels

One main component of this medial vowel practice is continuous practice and assessment.  Whether practice is done in centers, whole group, small group, independent work time or through homework, students MUST practice this skill throughout the year.  Vowel discrimination is so hard in Kindergarten but it is a skill that we must reinforce and assess regularly.
I assess throughout the year with informal viewing, intermittent questioning and grading response sheets.  This is one thing that I make sure to check routinely!
