Reflection: Gradual Release Flip & Add - Section 3: Guided Practice


Make sure the kids have plenty of practice playing the game before you let them go on their own. Releasing students too early can cause frustration and behavior problems. Kinders need to feel successful and confident before being set on their own. Having a partner for the games adds that extra support the mid-low and low students need to ensure success once they are on their own. Scaffolded support systems are the key.
