Reflection: Joy Money Trouble: A Reader's Theater Script - Section 1: Get Ready

The engagement factor of "putting on a play" is very high. THe students are unaware that they are learning social studies concepts and practicing ELA skills, evne if they do acquiesce to fill out charts and answer text dependent questions. They are "doing a play!" and the are performing for another class.

I love this lesson. The joy it evokes is, as the commercial says, priceless.

Lesson 5 of 6

Objective: SWBAT identify key details in the text and read the text with expression by acknowledging characters' points of view.

Big Idea: Take the show on the road! Reader's theater “enriches” our study of money and banks. Students will role play opposing points of view.
