Reflection: Student Grouping Nonfiction Reading Circles Part 3 -One Step Ahead of Hitler - Section 2: Group Work

A problem that comes up anytime you have group work but especially with pairs, is what to do when one is absent.

This did happen in one class on meeting day, but we just went t plan B.  I didn't want the lone student to feel left out or that her section was unimportant, so I put her with another group (one that could handle the curve) and ask that they share with her and she could share her section with them.

This worked out well, and the student who was absent had their meeting with her when he returned.
