Reflection: Modeling Snail Fun - Section 3: Guided Practice


What I was not expecting, and did not plan for, was that every student wanted to share how they were named, who who they were named after. 

I realized that this was important for my little ones to share with me instead of whispering their stories in their hands, or showing with their hands "Who was named after..." Next time I will either add this time to the lesson plans, or take a moment before we begin this part of the guided practice.

Big Idea: By identifying with the main character your students will realize, sometimes we just read for fun and adventure!
