Reflection: Exit Tickets MORE One-Step Equations - All Scrambled Up! - Section 3: Summary


While we are moving in the right direction, I still have students struggle when the coefficient of x is negative - they want to add instead of divide.  I think this just requires practice, as my students' prior knowledge of one step equations is limited to positive whole numbers - the no-brainer kind of problems! Eventhough I feel like I am dragging it out a bit, I really feel like knowing how to use inverse operations to solve an equation is such an important skill that I want my students to be successful before I start adding more steps. One more day, and then I am moving on!
