Reflection: Flexibility Text Structure: Cause and Effect Part 2 - Section 1: Warm Up

If you have been following me, you know that I rarely change Free Read Friday.  I like that time to be sacred, and my students appreciate that.  However, I do believe in being flexible when opportunity presents itself, so I allows my students to deviate from the plan a little today.

As I reflect on this choice,  I'm glad I went with it.  It not only emphasized my appreciation for Tween Tribune's current reading samples, but also allowed my students to have some control over what they are doing in the classroom. Student ownership of learning is invaluable, so when you have the opportunity - especially when it presents itself without throwing the entire day into chaos - take it!
