Reflection: Student Ownership Letter to the Editor - Section 1: Read an editorial


SOAPSTone is an analytical technique that helps students identify specifically the major points of the author’s bias.  Although we have used it several times throughout the semester, it is a difficult concept. Therefore, I have students work with partners to analyze writing pieces using this technique.  I wait until the second semester to have them attempt this analysis individually.
