Reflection: Adaptive Technology Identifying and Using Types of Sentences - Section 5: Closure

My students were very creative in collaborating to compose short narratives.  Using adaptive technology (, they composed stories about their best birthday ever, fun family events, experiences with their favorite pet, to name a few.  I allowed students an opportunity to collaborate because I want them to feel comfortable sharing ideas with one another.  I've found this helps students develop a mutual respect for one another.  Peer collaboration is also a strategy I use when I want to use time efficiently and effectively.  Students don't feel as pressured to come up with ideas totally on their own. This promotes a safe learning environment.
